Dear Friends,
Greetings and Peace to all in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord!

Author Joseph Conrad had just finished writing a lengthy and intense novel about domination and rescue. Because Conrad's native language was Polish, the task of working out precise English words and phrases was very difficult. When he finally completed the book he scrawled a single word across the last page. It was not the word "Finished" or "Completed", but the word "Victory!" And that became the title of the novel.

Early in Jesus' ministry, he told his disciples, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to finish His work." (John 4:34) It would be a task more difficult than anyone had ever undertaken. By his sinless life and sacrificial death, he would purchase our redemption on the cross so that forgiveness of our sins could be granted to us and all who believe him. On the night before his death he prayed, "I have finished the work which You have given me to do." (John 17:4) And on the cross, before committing his spirit into His Father's hands, he said, "It is finished!" Jesus had offered himself as a perfect sacrifice for our sin. He had defeated satan. He had secured our redemption. His work was finished...his purpose in coming was completed, and for us he won the Victory!

These Lenten Days are opportunties for us to gather for worship and fellowship in His Name. As God's people gather we share His Word of Life and remember the promises he made for us...promises for Peace and Hope...for Grace and Mercy...for Life and Salvation!

Please take time in these days for Scripture, prayer, reflection, and contemplation. Take time for worship, fellowship, and service to the Lord who gave His for you and rose victorious...for us all!
